In My Head 03:58
In my head Each second is longer And everyone hungers for death In my head The slaves turn to masters And natural disasters are fair In my head There’s little compassion And random aggression is bold In my head Each day is a battle We follow like cattle our self-written laws In my head there’s a lot to be said and done A lot more to overcome It’s just how it is In my head there’s not much more we can do But sitting ‘round watching the news In my head Some people are monsters And everyone clusters to watch utter shame In my head There’s anger and treason For no other reason than sharing our pain In my head We don’t even bother about what happens to others as long as we’re not in it In my head We get into trouble To run from our boredom as if it would work In my head there’s a lot to be said and done A lot more to overcome It’s just how it is In my head there’s not much more we can do But sitting ‘round watching the news In my head There’s lack of decisions Just static opinions of what could have been In my head We don’t have a clue Of what we say and we do but we pretend like we do In my head there’s a lot to be said and done A lot more to overcome It’s just how it is In my head there’s not much more we can do But sitting ‘round watching the news

All the lonely people whisper poetry for the moon Drowning all our apathy with prophecies of doom The trail is nearly over and the road is getting thin Murmurs of the vultures in the silence of their spin Moments of delusion on a melancholic haze Shovelling our ashes to the sound of love and rage Ritalin and valium are melting in your mouth Questioning is everything but what it’s all about Vultures hanging over as the sun eats up your eyes Flying over hilltops while darkness fills the skies Wash your mouth with gasoline and shave with broken glass Marry me and bury me, I’ll leave in my best dress Tortured by the vulture with patience in his eyes Silent praying demons with your ashes in their minds Running out of tears while the clouds block the sun And all the lonely people whisper poetry for the moon

We used to care and to bother We used to dream of one another Until the break of dawn We used to go to places We used to make silly faces And everything was fun We used to drink together We used to walk wherever Beneath the setting sun We used to talk for hours We used to catch some flowers We used to be alone Now I sleep, I don’t dream We used to make silly questions We used to take no suggestions For things that we should do We used to sing by the moonlight We used to hold our hands tight Every afternoon We used to tell our stories We used to share our worries And everything was good We used to... we used to... We used to do what we used to do

Frontline 03:41
I'll never get to know the price to pay the folks who never charge I'll never get to understand the rolling waves of circumstance it's nice to see you stumbling all the words you're mumbling are meaningless seems to me you're kind of worried broken and dyslexic, aren't you? "yeah" the price you pay for luxury is emptying your pockets the cops are after me I'll meet you at the fountain take the shots for me and I'll meet you in the frontline if you take these shots for me I'll meet you in the frontline so please be in the frontline with me
6.
Put on your overcoat and dance To the sour song of shallow circumstance Rewrite your system of beliefs And don’t deny a dying man’s last wish It’s a long way down from the ageing of your youth You start to fall as soon as you reach the roof The pages of your own destiny Start to fall as you open the book The pages of your own destiny It’s a long way down from the cradle to a beeping machine And then a hole in the ground Put on your overcoat and sing The shallow song of your own disbelief Redefine the echoes on your cave Put some flowers in your brother’s grave It’s a long way down from the cutting of the umbilical cord You start to cry as soon as you face the world You start to cry as soon as you’re complete You try to overrun your pace with your own feet Soon as you feel incomplete Then you turn your head and hit the ground It’s really a simple world when you come down to it And it’s just your self esteem throwing out your nicest dream Be a part of your fantasies Wake up to your own infinity and rise up
7.
North Wind 02:57
Taken by surprise by the anguish in my eyes And the anger in my soul numbing me away from you If you pay the price of the tears in the eyes Waving silently goodbye to the blowing winds of north Any day now Empty days will fade into my soul Sympathy is nice if we haven't paid the price of integrity and wideness of disappearing thoughts And if we pay the price in a gentle lullaby You'll see anguish in the eyes of the ones you thought you loved Any day now Empty days will fade into my soul Taken by the hand with a scar left on my chin and a tombstone on top of my bed beside the lamp Sunset in the haze and a melancholic gaze upon everything that used to be not being anymore Any day now Empty days will fade into my soul
8.
The words have come between us but not a word was heard between us bending down my spine the reasoning of silence and the sympathy of violence bending down my spine so far you haven't noticed how words can be corrosive whispered in your ears the silent lack of patience and the barking dogs of vengeance whispering in your ear the reasoning belt and buddy baseball bat when the prophecy was spoken the laws of men were broken bending down our spines reduce it all to nothing the laws of men were something created through bad times the words have come between us to build a wall between us so we can break our spines if prophecies are broken, remember no words have been spoken feel free to cross the line and meet the reasoning belt and buddy baseball bat
9.
Tailfly 03:16
Tailfly where are you? Where am I? No way out of here Out of the blue sky Tailfly is it true that you flew out of the blue sky? No way out of there Out of the sunshine
10.
Been this way for too long Things might have to change You don't look the same It all looks the same to me Circling around forever Never getting anywhere If things don't change It happens all over again Been from riches to rags Rags to riches to rags again Been this way forever Things will never change Nothing to lose And tired of singing the blues Armed with guns and ammo Firing out of command It all feels the same And it starts all over again Been from riches to rags rags to riches to rags again it goes round and round...

Words come stranded with ocean-size thoughts Lost between all the small things And words flow gently like whispering thoughts Lost in a muted empire Words come slowly like wrecks of a ship Lost in the flow of the ocean And words sound as poor people singing the blues Gone from the realm of their poverty Throw a coin on the floor Though they’ll never make it It eases the void in our conscience And breathe your apathy Paradise shelters Home of the free and the patient And words cloud shuffled and randomized thoughts Gone into our dementia state Then we shape it with logical forms As if they had meaning

about

After two EPs - "Songs From The Bedroom Floor" (2008) and "Acoustic Radio Session" (2009) - "Songs From The Attic Window" is the first LP by Oceansea, a singer-songwriter project I developed until 2015, when I decided to release all my songs under my own name.

These 11 songs were written between 2004 and 2008, so they are the missing link for this body of work, and they feature nothing but guitar and vocals.

Everything was recorded and mixed at home in one day and mastered by Joel Fausto (www.facebook.com/IllusionOrchestra).

The artwork was once again designed by Carla Renault (chibizumi.deviantart.com), who sadly passed away in 2010. This album is dedicated to her loving memory.

(Note: I used to release my songs in English under the moniker Oceansea until 2015. From then on, I started using my own name for both my songs in Portuguese and English.)
